Montenegro's European Championship qualifier against Russia was suspended after Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev was struck by a lit flare thrown from the crowd.

The flare was thrown from behind the goal within a minute of the Group G fixture kicking off and it appeared to strike Akinfeev in the back of the head, causing the keeper to fall to the ground.

The referee stopped the game and the players from both teams were told to leave the field.
