Bowery pushing for start

Rotherham striker Jordan Bowery is pushing for his first league start of the season in the home game against Charlton.

Bowery has staked his claim after stepping off the substitutes' bench to score in the Millers' last two matches, while fellow striker Alex Revell is also in contention to return to the starting line-up.

Defender Richard Wood has been sidelined since the end of last month due to a knee injury and remains doubtful. Midfielder Mark Bradley (knee) is a long-term absentee.

Winger Febian Brandy will play no part as he joined Crewe on loan earlier this week as the Millers chase their first league win in four matches.

Charlton hope their in-form frontman Igor Vetokele will be available despite suffering a nasty-looking injury on Tuesday night.

There were fears the Angola international had broken his arm when he collided with Wolves goalkeeper Carl Ikeme during the 1-1 draw at The Valley, but an X-ray has since showed no fracture.

Winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson will also be checked over after missing out in midweek with a groin injury.

Chris Solly should return at right-back after being rested against Wolves as the club continue to manage his ongoing knee problem.
