Roberto Martinez: Pep's arrival will inspire coaches

Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes the arrival of Pep Guardiola in the Premier League will inspire coaches up and down the country.

The Bayern Munich and former Barcelona boss will take over from Manchester City's Manuel Pellegrini this summer and his fellow Catalan believes it will only produce positive results.

"Pep Guardiola is one the best managers in world football - the record is there to back that up - but I don't think we are discovering anything by saying that," he said.

"Obviously he's Catalan and I should know that very well - I know exactly what he is as a person, as a winner.

"He's going to bring a very successful football philosophy and without a doubt he'll affect a lot of young coaches and managers in the country.

"He'll bring a completely different tactical approach in the British game.

"He's got an attention to detail that's very different to find in any other manager.

"It's going to be fantastic for the league, the Premier League will be a better league with Pep Guardiola in it."
