Quartet miss out for Rovers

Raith Rovers host Forfar in the League Cup without being able to call on four first-team players due to injury and suspension.

The Kirkcaldy men are likely to continue to be without Dougie Hill and Craig Barr through knee injuries while Calum Elliot and Grant Anderson are still banned after last weekend's Petrofac Training Cup tie against Dunfermline was abandoned. However, Kevin Moon is injury free.

Rovers manager Grant Murray said: "It was frustrating that the Dunfermline game was called off due to the rain but we just have to get on with things.

"Forfar are full of experienced players and they defeated Rangers at this stage last season and that shows the danger we face."

Forfar have absentees of their own ahead of the trip with Stewart Malcolm suspended and Mark Baxter and Martyn Fotheringham nursing knocks.

However, the experienced Darren Dods returns to play in defence and manager Dick Campbell is hoping that the role of underdogs will lift his side.

He said: "We were expected to beat East Fife last weekend but we never turned up for the game and went out of the Petrofac Training Cup.

"Going in against a Championship side may suit us as there is no level of expectation and the boys can just go out and play. Hopefully that will see us get a better result this week."
