An inspired PSV Eindhoven visit Heracles Almelo on Saturday in the Eredivisie looking to make a hugely successful week even better.

PSV followed their 6-0 hammering of Cambuur Leeuwarden with Tuesday's 2-1 win over Manchester United in Eindhoven in their Champions League opener.

The Dutch outfit trailed 1-0 before goals from Hector Moreno and Luciano Narsingh gave PSV a perfect start in Group B.

"It was a real team performance," PSV coach Phillip Cocu said on his club's official website.

"We really played like men. The players showed that you can achieve if you really believe in it. We were well organised and did not give away much in defence. We kept believing in our own style of play."

PSV are unbeaten in the Eredivisie but one point adrift of Saturday's opponents Heracles, who have won four of their opening five games.

Heracles have won both of their home games and are second in the standings, just one point behind league leaders Ajax.

The Amsterdam giants saw their perfect start to the season halted in last weekend's 2-2 draw at FC Twente.

Frank de Boer's men were held to another 2-2 draw by Celtic in Thursday's Europa League group opener.

On Sunday, Ajax visit an Excelsior side who have mustered one win so far and will be without captain Sander Fischer and forward Tom van Weert.

Both players were suspended after being sent off in last weekend's 3-0 defeat to PEC Zwolle.

FC Groningen and AZ Alkmaar square off on Sunday at the Euroborg stadium with both sides having played in Europe this week.

AZ Alkmaaar began their Europa League Group L campaign with a 3-2 reverse at Partizan in Belgrade on Thursday.

Groningen, meanwhile, suffered a 3-0 loss to Marseille at home in their Group F opener.

Feyenoord are third in the standings and level on 12 points with Heracles.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men will look to end Roda JC's unbeaten run at home this season on Sunday.

Cambuur and Twente head into Saturday's game at Leeuwarden with the two sides still winless after five rounds of games played.

Twente, who finished 10th in the Eredivisie last season, clinched their second point of the campaign by holding Ajax to a draw last time out.

Cambuur have collected just one point so far.

FC Utrecht are seventh in the standings and take on Willem II in Tilburg on Saturday looking for their first win on the road this season.

ADO Den Haag play at PEC Zwolle on Saturday seeking their first win since August 15.

Bottom side De Graafschap travel to Vitesse on Sunday hoping to clinch their first points of the campaign.

De Graafschap have lost all five of their games.
