Defensive concerns for Preston ahead of Reading clash

Preston head into the Reading game with the same concern over their right-back area.

Simon Grayson cannot call on Tyias Browning and Calum Woods (both knee). while Alex Baptiste (knee) and Marnick Vermijl (hernia) remain absent until after the international break.

Defender Andy Boyle should have done enough to retain his place after the Irishman impressed on his debut at Derby in midweek.

John Welsh (calf) is North End's other injury absentee.

Liam Moore and Liam Kelly are doubts with hamstring injuries for Reading.

Midfielder Kelly was replaced at half-time and defender Moore five minutes into the second half of Tuesday night's goalless draw with Newcastle.

Manager Jaap Stam hinted afterwards he would continue his rotation policy in the Championship promotion run-in.

He still has a lengthy injury list as Stephen Quinn (knee), Reece Oxford (hamstring), Deniss Rakels (ankle), Callum Harriott (hamstring), Tiago Ilori (knee) and Danzell Gravenberch (ankle) remain out.
