Paul Cook likely to stick with winning Portsmouth line-up

Portsmouth manager Paul Cook is likely to stick with the team that put Colchester to the sword when Grimsby visit Fratton Park on Tuesday.

An unchanged Pompey XI consolidated their place in the automatic promotion places with a 4-0 victory at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Saturday and, with no fresh injury concerns, Cook is likely to name the same line-up as his side seek a third straight Sky Bet League Two win for the first time this season.

Jack Whatmough's hamstring injury means Tom Davies is likely to retain his place on the bench, while the likes of Amine Linganzi, Gary Roberts and Conor Chaplin will have to continue to bide their time for a return to the starting team.

Curtis Main (knee) remains a long-term absentee having not featured since October, while Stanley Aborah and Nicke Kabamba continue to wait for debuts having joined in January.

Grimsby boss Marcus Bignot said he would be making changes for the trip to the south coast.

Bignot has reported no new injury problems following Saturday's win at Leyton Orient, but promised to utilise his squad for the second away fixture in three days.

Defender Gavin Gunning could return to contention after he missed out at the weekend due to the effects of concussion.

Dominic Vose is hoping to resume in the starting line-up after returning from a thigh injury at the weekend, while Adi Yussuf, Akwasi Asante and Jamie Osborne are pushing for recalls.
