Zubar banned for Vale

Port Vale will be without the suspended Stephane Zubar against Scunthorpe.

Zubar was sent off at Preston on Saturday following a clash with home striker Joe Garner and the defender will begin a three-match ban when the Iron visit Vale Park. Meanwhile, Jordan Slew is available again after serving his three-match suspension.

Fellow striker Achille Campion could be added to the squad after marking his return from a month-long absence with a thigh injury with two goals in a reserve-team outing last week. Remie Streete will also hope to make his professional debut after the 19-year-old defender, on loan from Newcastle, sat on the bench against both Yeovil and Preston.

Caretaker boss Rob Page is hoping to bring a player in on loan ahead of Tuesday night's fixture - believed to be Leicester's teenage striker Harry Panayiotou.

Scunthorpe boss Mark Robins could be tempted to make one or two changes in his second game in charge.

Robins named an unchanged starting XI as his first game as Iron manager ended in a 1-1 home draw against Colchester at the weekend and has no major new injury concerns.

New signing Isaiah Osbourne made his first appearance off the bench on Saturday and is hoping to play a bigger role against the club he was close to joining prior to his arrival at Glanford Park.

Goalkeeper Sam Slocombe returned for the first time since injuring his shoulder in August as an unused substitute against Colchester, but Bobby Olejnik is expected to continue.
