PFA Fans' Player of the Month September 2014 - Championship

Britt Assombalonga has been in fine form since signing for Nottingham Forest from Peterborough United on a five-year deal, netting an impressive eight goals in just ten games. Assombalonga scored his first goals for Forest mid August, bagging a brace against Bolton Wonderers at the Macron Stadium. His brace was followed up with a goal in each of Forest's next two games, against Bournemouth and Reading. The 21-year-old netted his first hat-trick for Forest on September 17th in a goal filled 5-3 home victory over League struggler's Fulham. Britt's recent goalscoring form has seen him linked with a call up to the England U21 squad.

Norwich new boy Lewis Grabban has hit the ground running at his new club in similar fashion to Britt Assombalonga, scoring six goals in nine appearances for the Canaries. Although his first game for Norwich ended in defeat against Wolves, Grabban bounced back with a goal against Watford in the next game, helping his side to a 3-0 win at Carrow Road. The 26-year-old also scored the games only goal when Norwich beat local rivals Ipswich in the East Anglian derby.

Another candidate from Norwich, this time Cameron Jerome has netter five goals in just four appearances for his side after joining the club for an undisclosed fee this summer. Jerome scored a brace against his former side Birmingham City in late September.

David McGoldrick made a goalscoring return for Ipswich in August, scoring the winning goal against Fulham after a knee injury that kept the player out for over ten weeks.

Inspirational captain Grant Leadbitter - who has in the past been courted by promotion rivals Nottingham Forest - will be fancied by many clubs following his displays this season. The midfielder has scored seven in twelve appearances for Borough, including a Roberto Carlos style free-kick against Huddersfield in the Championship.
