PFA Fans' Player of the Month contenders: Skybet Leagues One and Two

Oldham's man of the moment Jonathan Forte is closing in on League One's leading scorer Eoin Doyle – and his first ever fans’ player of the month award.

The Latics are heading towards the top six on the back of a stunning 11-match unbeaten league run, with Forte contributing an impressive five goals during October.

The nomadic striker has been on fire since joining Oldham in the summer, with 11 goals in 13 games, and has already beaten his previous best tally for a whole season.

Fans’ Player of the Month for September Doyle added another three goals to his total and now has 14 but, with Chesterfield faltering and slipping down the table, he may struggle to retain his crown.

There’s no stopping Bristol City at the moment with the Robins flying high at the top of the table after going through the month unbeaten.

The club’s leading scorer Aaron Wilbraham, fellow striker Kieran Agard and Aden Flint have again been among the goals and Steve Cotterill’s men look unstoppable right now.

Preston are also on a hot streak with seven winning games on the bounce and Joe Garner made it ten goals for the season with an impressive hat-trick against Fleetwood.

Elsewhere in the division, Marcus Maddison continues to impress for promotion-chasing Peterborough whilst Michael Smith and Andy Williams have been starring for Swindon.

In League Two, it’s hard to look beyond the form team and the form player in the division – Luton Town and Mark Cullen.

After a steady if not spectacular start to their first season back in the league, the Hatters now find themselves top of the pile after putting together a seven-match winning run.

Cullen’s hat-trick against Dagenham & Redbridge took his season total to eight, just one behind the division’s leading scorer, Oxford’s Danny Hylton.

Wimbledon pair Matt Tubbs and Ade Akinfenwa (with 16 goals between them) are also in the hunt, whilst veteran striker Jamie Cureton (Dagenham) is eyeing up a 300-goal career record. You can vote for your PFA Fans' Player of the Month award by clicking here.
