Arsenal have been given the go-ahead to sign Paulo Dybala with Palermo confirming that they are negotiating with English clubs with a view to sell.

The 21-year-old striker has been compared with compatriots Sergio Aguero and Javier Pastore due to his quick, agile and creative style of play. Dybala is also know for his versatility in forward positions, with accurate shooting and heading ability and enough pace and technical passing skill to play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder.

Dybala has dual citizenship and was eligible to play for Argentina, Italy or Poland but has expressed his desire to play for Argentina.

Joining Palermo in 2012 the striker has made a total of 82 appearances for the club and scoring 20 goals. The report states that a £30million bid has been tabled and Maurizio Zamparini the Palermo club president has confirmed the talks with English clubs and that a deal is set to be agreed.

“I’m speaking directly to the presidents of the teams interested in England,” he told Sky Italia.

“There is a lot of interest, the player is very good and we’ll try to find an agreement.”

Dybala is understood to also be of interest to Man United and Chelsea but Arsenal are thought to be the favourites to land the player.
