The 21-year-old Englishman, Britt Assombalonga, who became Nottingham Forest's record signing, has begun to pay off the millions invested in him.

Although born in DR Congo, the striker moved to London as a child. He joined the youth team of Watford in 2010 and made a debut in March 2012, but failed to earn a place among the first-team players.

Therefore, the youngster had to move on loans. This was a great opportunity for Assombalonga, as he was able to present his goalscoring skills in lower divisions of English football league system. He had a blast at Southend United, from where he earned a transfer to Peterbrough United. His new owners were certain the striker will do good after scoring 15 goals for Southend.

In fact, he did even better – 23 goals in 43 League One appearances. Undoubtedly, Assombalonga was meant for something bigger this time. And on August 6, Nottingham have signed this enormously talented player for 5 million pounds which could rise up to 8 million based on appearances.

The pressure was big, but Britt responded magnificently. He shook the net three times in three matches in the starting weeks of the season. Two weeks ago, the team have beaten Fulham 5-3 and the hero was, once again, the striker, with the first hat-trick of the season.

That makes it eight goals in 10 matches and the top of the goal scorers table. He is eligible to represent both England and the DR Congo. Which manager will act faster, smarter and finally, call him up for international action?
