North Ferriby boss Steve Housham vows to make life difficult for Lincoln

North Ferriby want to bring FA Cup giant-killers Lincoln "back to earth" on their return to Vanarama National League action.

Danny Cowley's side are the talk of the footballing world after creating FA Cup history on Saturday, with their last-gasp 1-0 win at Burnley making them become the first non-league outfit to reach the last eight since 1914.

A trip to Arsenal lies in wait for the Imps if fellow non-league side Sutton fail to pull off an even bigger shock on Monday, but Lincoln's main focus now is continuing their promotion charge on Tuesday evening.

North Ferriby's humble Eon Visual Media Stadium is a far cry from Turf Moor but plays host to another crucial match as the league leaders look to bolster their promotion chances in East Yorkshire.

The Villagers sit bottom of the National League but manager Steve Housham has vowed to make life difficult for the FA Cup heroes, who will be cheered on by around 1,700 travelling fans on Tuesday.

"First of all, everybody at Ferriby congratulates Lincoln on reaching the last eight of the cup," Housham said. "It's an amazing achievement.

"They will be cock-a-hoop after beating Burnley. We need to bring them back to earth.

"It's going to be very difficult but it will be interesting to see how Lincoln react. They come to us to play in a small stadium after winning at a Premier League ground.

"As always we will go in to the game believing we can get something from it."

Simon Russell, Steve Brogan, Ryan Fallowfield and Connor Oliver are out for Ferriby on Tuesday, while Danny Emerton is a doubt having picked up a knock in the weekend loss to Dover.

Lee Beevers remains out for Lincoln with a knee injury, but Josh Ginnelly, on loan from Burnley, is back in contention having been cup-tied for the match at Turf Moor.

Wycombe loanee Dayle Southwell will be pushing for his second Lincoln start, having been brought in to fill the void left by FA Cup hero Theo Robinson's January departure to Southend.

Towering striker Matt Rhead will be assessed before the match at Ferriby - a side he scored two against in August as Lincoln triumphed 6-1 at Sincil Bank.

Nathan Arnold, Luke Waterfall, Jonny Margetts and Bradley Wood scored the others against a side reduced to 10 men after 23 minutes when Ben Middleton received his marching orders.
