Frank Nouble treble sinks Chesterfield on Newport's return to Rodney Parade

Frank Nouble's hat-trick earned Newport a 4-1 triumph over Chesterfield on their return to Rodney Parade.

The striker scored three times in 13 minutes before Padraig Amond made sure of the points after Chris O'Grady had put the Spireites in front.

Newport's early dominance was interrupted by a lengthy break in play after Brad Barry suffered a serious knee injury following a collision with Joss Labadie.

Chesterfield made their breakthrough when Scott Wiseman beat Nouble and sent the ball across the face of goal for the on-rushing O'Grady to side-foot past Joe Day.

Newport were back on level terms in spectacular fashion after 55 minutes when Nouble picked the ball up 35-yards from goal before unleashing a fierce strike into the top corner.

And he followed that with a looping header into the top corner after 66 minutes before wrapping up the points from close-range two minutes later.

There was still time for new signing Amond to rifle a shot into the bottom corner to complete the 4-1 triumph.
