Mourinho hails Pulis' ability

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has lauded the ability of West Brom boss Tony Pulis to get the best out of his players and teams.

Mourinho takes his Premier League champions to The Hawthorns for Monday's penultimate game of the season, with Albion safe after Pulis' arrival.

"If I own an English club, I sign Tony Pulis. It's as simple as that," Mourinho said.

"He's a guarantee to achieve what the club wants.

"He never managed a club that wants to be champion, he never managed a club that wants top four, he is always managing clubs that want to survive and want stability. Tony is mathematics. What the club wants, he gives.

"His record is absolutely amazing."

Mourinho believes the former Stoke and Crystal Palace manager can organise a team to achieve its objectives.

"He does what some people don't understand, but I do, and sometimes people don't rate it, but I do," the Blues boss added.

"For me it's the most important thing in football, which is the relationship between what the manager wants and what the team is.

"Tony's teams are exactly what he wants, are exactly what he prepares the team to be.

"This is the most difficult thing in football. Philosophy is a beautiful thing, but football is more than that and Tony is a great example of that."
