Arbroath keeper bags in rout

Arbroath goalkeeper David Crawford scored a free-kick as they thrashed 10-man Montrose 5-1 in Scottish League Two.

The visitors took the lead after 17 minutes when striker Simon Murray finished from close range after being teed up by Robert Linn.

Dylan Carreiro made it two for Arbroath from close range on 52 minutes before Garry Wood handed Montrose a lifeline when he converted from the penalty spot six minutes later.

Their comeback never materialised as Crawford's seemingly innocuous free-kick in his own half managed to find the back of the net after 78 minutes.

Opposite number Lucas Birstingl was then shown a straight red card for serious foul play before striker Paul McManus made it four from the spot as the visitors ran riot.

McManus then grabbed his second of match deep into added time after being picked out by substitute Kevin Buchan to complete a miserable day for Montrose.
