Millwall boss Neil Harris wants fans to do club proud against Tottenham

Millwall manager Neil Harris has urged supporters to do the club proud with the way they behave at Tottenham on Sunday.

The Lions face Spurs at White Hart Lane in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup amid concerns of potential unrest between fans of the two London teams.

Scrutiny has intensified after the previous round, when Leicester complained to the Football Association regarding "abuse, provocation and intimidation" from Millwall supporters as they celebrated their victory on the pitch.

There is also a history of animosity between Millwall and Tottenham after violence erupted around a pre-season friendly between the clubs in 2001.

They have not played each other competitively since Spurs won a top-flight fixture 1-0 in 1990.

Millwall have sold out their full provision of 3,681 away tickets after they were granted 900 extra seats from their initial allocation.

Harris has told his team's fans to represent the club in the correct manner.

"It can certainly bring some good press for us. You talk about players individually gaining good press in cup runs for lower levels teams," Harris said.

"But as a club as a whole, of course you want to paint yourself in the right light as a club.

"I think it is a competition that has been good to us this year. We certainly want the focus to be on on-pitch activities."

Millwall have climbed to sixth in League One, having strung together a 17-match unbeaten run and conceded just one goal in 10 games.

Harris, however, is sweating over the fitness of his goalkeeper Jordan Archer, who has not played since injuring his groin against Leicester last month.

Archer moved to the Den in 2015 after being released by Tottenham and was crowned Millwall's Player of the Year in his first season. He is likely to be replaced by Tom King.

"I think given what it means to him as an individual, it is obviously driving him on to really have a go but we do have to be sensible because we have got a lot of big games left," Harris said.

"I normally leave a decision to at least a day before the game but obviously there is a tick list you have to complete coming back from injury before that.

"At the moment we are looking about a 40-60 chance."
