Callum McManaman has called for patience after West Brom's winless start to the season, believing they are on the cusp of breaking their duck.
The Baggies winger thinks they can kick-start their season soon following a second defeat of the campaign.
Albion lost 3-2 to 10-man Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday while they also suffered defeat to Manchester City and drew 0-0 at Watford.
They host Port Vale in the Capital One Cup second round on Tuesday and McManaman expects a Baggies revival.
"I think once we find our first win, we will go on a run and win a few games," he said.
"We showed (against Chelsea) that we can compete with the better teams in this league and that gives us plenty of confidence.
"We obviously want to get points on the board as quickly as we can.
"The squad is gelling together really well. I think once we have got ourselves sorted defensively as a team that will help massively.
"The new players have come in and settled really well which is obviously great for us."
McManaman impressed against the champions and won an early penalty but Thibaut Courtois saved James Morrison's effort.
Midfielder Morrison did score twice and while boss Tony Pulis may make changes against Vale McManaman insisted the squad can take heart from their performance.
"It's pleasing to know we played so well against the champions," he told the club's official site.
"We caused them plenty of problems before and after the (John Terry) red card.
"If you let in three goals in any game it's going to cost you points but you just can't do that against Chelsea, it killed us in the first half."
