Mark Robins has returned to Coventry for a second spell as manager, the League One club have announced.

The 47-year-old was in charge of the Sky Blues for 17 months between 2012 and 2013 before leaving to take the post at Huddersfield.

Coventry, who fired Russell Slade on Sunday, are bottom of the table and 13 points from safety with only 11 games to go, though the club have stated Robins' deal will extend beyond the current season.

Robins has been out of the game since being sacked by Scunthorpe in January 2016.

"I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to return to Coventry City FC and really excited by the challenge ahead," he told www.ccfc.co.uk.

"I know the club well and it has been especially difficult to watch the struggles of this season from afar.

"My aim is to provide a change of fortune for this football club in the long term, and build a team not only for now, but for the future of Coventry City."
