Danny Rose scores twice as Mansfield see off local rivals Notts County

Sky Bet League Two leaders Notts County saw their six-game winning streak come to an abrupt halt with a 3-1 defeat at local rivals Mansfield.

Danny Rose made it four goals in as many games with a second-half brace before a Richard Duffy own goal sealed the points - all three goals inside 16 pulsating minutes.

The win extended Mansfield's unbeaten run against County to 10 league matches.

Mansfield had the best chances in a scrappy first half with Rose, Alex MacDonald and Kane Hemmings going close.

Rose broke through two minutes into the second half as he beat the advancing Adam Collin to Duffy's header back and helped the ball into the empty net.

After David Mirfin had denied Jonathan Forte on the line in the 59th minute, Rose made sure from close range after Collin had turned Hemmings' close-range header onto a post from substitute Omari Sterling-James' cross.

Duffy's misery was complete after 63 minutes as he turned Rose's low cross into his own net.

Carl Dickinson grabbed a consolation for County two minutes into added time with a superb 25-yard free-kick.
