Mangala transfer bungle hints at how close he is to move

A five minute video was accidentally posted on the English champions official page last night revealing that the Manchester City transfer target saying through an interpreter: “I am here to help the team to win titles: the league, the cup and the Champions League.”

A report in the Mirror suggests that someone involved with the City website may have posted the video a little too soon. The deal to bring Mangala to the Premier League is a complex and fraught one according to the report that involves outlawed third-party ownership and is far from complete.

The video was quickly pulled from the site once the error was realised but does confirm that the player wants to join the club with the video revealing a drive to take the French international for a medical.

The report does state that an agreement is in place with Porto and that the player is also ready to move on, a statement somewhat verified by the video uploaded despite claims to the contrary.

The 23-year-old central defender began his career at Standard Liege where he played between 2008-2011 when he joined Porto for 7.5million Euros. Whilst included in the France squad for the 2014 World Cup he was unused and has so far made just 3 international appearances.

The video shows the player arriving by private jet at Manchester Airport 12 days ago, followed by a drive to City’s Bridgewater Hospital for a medical. The player is finally taken on a tour of the training ground.
