Manchester United's 0-0 draw against Cambridge: Is this really what 150 million buys?

Many people thought with Louis van Gaal and strong investment would come blistering performances and a title assault. Hitherto, neither has materialised with United just a shadow of what they are expected to be.

League Form: Played 22, Won 11, Drawn 7, Lost 4

On paper, the league form isn't too bad yet considering Arsenal and Liverpool’s indifferent starts, the Red Devils should be looking significantly more dominant. But then again Southampton boast of more points.

The irony is heightened when one considers that Southampton spent less for a lot more players and have acquired the defensive stability United so crave. Laboured performances against minnows MK Dons and Cambridge United have just gone on to illustrate money wasted.

One does wonder how long Ed Woodward will continue to flush the cash down the toilet.

PS. Please Mr. van Gaal this is not your doughnut money.

Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao

One sure does hope that more of this is not on the way.
