Manchester United set to lure Bale to Old Trafford

This rumour has been doing the rounds before of course but this time there is at least some source to create such a headline for the Express. As far-out rumours go this one is probably interstellar for the Galactico winger. That said, let’s take a look at what is being said and by who shall we.

It seems that ‘Reports in Spain’ are suggesting that Bale ‘could’ leave at the end of the season with the Express quoting Spanish journalist Manuel Esteban as saying: “Gareth Bale will not continue at Real Madrid.

“If they receive a big bid, they will not be hesitant.”

This all sounds a bit dramatic but given that you would have to say that Bale has had a successful season at Real, is settled and there are smiles all-round that it’s a little wide of the mark.

The report goes on to suggest that Man United, who easily beat Liverpool at the weekend 3-0 are preparing a record-breaking bid of £88million for the 25-year-old Welshman. Bale would be an instant fit for the Premier League giants having made 146 league appearances for Spurs as their star player. Bale has a great shot on him, able to score from outside the box as well as being one of the best free kick takers in the world. Perhaps his greatest asset is his great pace, agility and ball-control which makes him one of the best players in the world.

Bale has made 39 appearances for Real Madrid since joining in 2013, scoring 22 goals on his way to claiming the Champions League, Copa del Rey and UEFA Super Cup.
