Real Madrid's new signing Martin Odegaard isn't the only 16-year-old prodigy in the news today, with Manchester United making moves to sign Sergio Diaz – also just 16 years of age – ahead of bitter rivals Liverpool.

The Paraguayan striker has already made 20 appearances for Paraguayan Primera Division side Cerro Porteno, scoring an impressive eight goals in the process. Diaz has also appeared for the Paraguayan U20 side, scoring 1 goal in 2 games.

Diaz made his debut for Cerro Porteno in June 2014 aged just 15 and is rated as one of the most exciting young talents in South America, already being being referred to as Cerro Porteno's very own Sergio Aguero.

The player is currently in Uruguay participating in a South American U20 tournament but Italian site Tuttomercatoweb (translation required) has suggested that Manchester United have moved forward with talks to bring the striker to Old Trafford, with Liverpool also showing an interest in the player in previous weeks.

Cerro Porteno rate the youngster highly and will be holding out for around £5million from any clubs seriously interested in acquiring the talented forward.
