Man City to raid Premier League in double swoop for Sterling and Ings

Reports are surfacing that Manchester City are preparing to steal a march on rivals and get deals sorted for Raheem Sterling and Danny Ings soon after the close season. The players could spearhead their assault on next season with proven goal-scoring credentials to support Aguero and co.

The report in the Daily Star suggests that ‘mega-rich’ Man City will flex their financial muscle and spend £60million on two young players with bags of potential and a desire to play at the top level.

City themselves have been reported to be looking at an overhaul with players like Dzeko and Jovetic being shown the exit which would raise the funds to offset FFP restrictions. The club have only put up a tame defence of their title and a big part of this has been a goal tally that has fallen somewhat short of their title-winning season.

The 20-year-old Raheem Sterling is considered one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and seems destined to move with contract talks on ice. Danny Ings will want to stay in the top-flight with Burnley rock-bottom of the table and odds-on relegation fodder. A tribunal fee will be all that’s required to gain the 22-year-old's services in the summer and a host of clubs are interest in him as well as Sterling.

The report suggests that City want to do business early and not miss out on their targets.
