The Wolfsburg and Belgium winger has stunned the audience at the Sport Bild Awards in Hamburg by saying he would be staying with Wolfsburg.
“Yes, I am enjoying the familiar atmosphere in the changing room,” he said.
He added: “I, Kevin De Bruyne will definitely play this season at VfL Wolfsburg.”
Kevin De Bruyne's agent Patrick De Koster told Sky Sports:

"A practical joke in a live show, in a language the player doesn't completely understand? Unbelievable.
"I am furious by what has happened tonight. Kevin wanted to show respect by attending this event. No decision has been made on Kevin's future in this transfer window.
"We have yet to find out if Wolfsburg has reached any agreement with a club. Kevin remains a Wolfsburg player and is focused on his job at the club. He also remains happy at Wolfsburg."
The Wolfsburg Belgian player went to receive two awards on Monday one of them was "Star of the Year" which given by the Sport Bild awards.
Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking told transfermarket.de :
"That was a very nice statement by Kevin, even more so because he heard what he had to repeat. That was a bit surprising. He never said it that clearly in our talks.
"I think that's not the end of it. We will have to cope with it as long as the transfer window is open.
The former Chelsea player has started in Wolfsburg's three fixtures this season scoring in the German cup win over Stuttgart Kickers.
The 24-year-old started his career at the Belgian side Genk before joining Chelsea in 2012 with the fee rumored to be in the region of £7million, the Belgian made only three league appearances for the Blues so he moved to join Wolfsburg after he had a successful loan spell in the German Bundesliga with Werder Bremen.
