Majeed Waris salvaged Lorient a point but they remain without an away win in Ligue 1 this season after a 2-2 draw at Angers.

Famara Diedhiou cancelled out Sylvain Marveaux's first-half opener for Lorient and after Cheikh Ndoye had fired Angers ahead in the second period, Waris struck the visitors' equaliser.

Lorient struck against the run of play through former Newcastle striker Marveaux in the 23rd minute as he took a pass from Waris on the edge of the area and fired home into the bottom corner.

Angers hit back to level three minutes later. Vincent Le Goff was booked for his challenge on Ndoye in the area and Diedhiou made no mistake with the resulting penalty.

The home side went ahead in the 58th minute when Ndoye headed home Karl Toko Ekambi's cross, but Waris levelled for Lorient with a low shot from a tight angle eight minutes later.
