The 22-year-old is be very able, mature and consistent in his game and these qualities have elevated him to become the first-choice at his club, playing 25 times this season.

The Italian journalist Gianluca Dimarzio has reported that talks have started between Liverpool and Atalanta to bring the player to the Premier League in the summer. Rodgers was initially interested in Neto from Fiorentina but he is already agreed to go to Juventus.

Liverpool have been linked with several goalkeepers recently with out-of-favour Petr Cech the most high-profile name mentioned in connection to a move to Anfield.

A move for Cech could prove extremely expensive whereas Sportiello could be snapped up for as little as £3million according to the Daily Star.
