Liverpool to spend big in summer Portuguese triple binge?

Reports are coming in thick and fast regarding the transfer lists of Premier League managers as well as clubs looking to let it be known that they have players available for the right price.

Business is always there to be done in Portugal despite the sometimes confusing status with buy-out clauses and player ownership but reports are building via the Portuguese newspapers O Jogo and A Bola that interest is building with Liverpool for some of the players in the Primeira Liga.

A Bola featured a piece claiming that Liverpool are interested in Rui Patricio on Monday. The 27-year-old Sporting keeper has spent his entire senior career with Sporting, making some 320 appearances. In addition to his club starts the player also performs at International level for Portugal and has so far earned some 36 caps. The player has been linked with a move to the Premier League at virtually every transfer window for the past few seasons. The keeper has a 40million Euro buyout clause but O Jogo think this can be safely ignored and feel a figure of 15million Euro would be enough to do business.

A Bola say that Liverpool sent their top recruiter to do business in Dave Moss at the weekend to get final notes on Patricio. It’s difficult to verify this of course unless the information had slipped or something was overheard at the match. It is claimed that the man most interesting to Liverpool is that other regular feature on English transfer columns, a certain William Carvalho.

Carvalho was at one stage of real interest to Arsenal who in the end failed to get a deal done with a fee split in two instalments not being one that interested Sporting. A Bola also reveal a third Portuguese target in Danilo. (Not the same Danilo who has pledged himself to Real Madrid as has been reported but the player of Braga)

We shall see if any of this becomes a reality but a new keeper and and couple of defensive midfielders certainly wouldn't go amiss at Anfield.
