Liverpool announce Kop expansion

14 March 2017 05:22
470 seats are going to be added to the Spion Kop in time for next season.

According to the Echo,

"The proposed building work forms part of a planning application submitted to the city council as the Reds look to improve provisions for disabled supporters ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Around 1,000 seats will need to be moved in order for Liverpool to meet the requirements of the Accessible Stadia Guide. The number of wheelchair bays will be increased from 195 to more than 250.

The changes will have an impact on general admission seats and some season ticket holders will also have to be relocated elsewhere in the stadium. However, Liverpool insist that Anfield's 54,000 capacity won't be reduced as a result of the changes."
