Spanish police have arrested eight Leicester City for "causing a mess" ahead of their Champions League game against Atletico Madrid.

The fans remain in custody following clashes with Madrid police in the Plaza Mayor on Tuesday evening, and will appear in court on Thursday, while two police officers were injured in the disturbances.

The Mirror reports that 'witnesses claim police launched an unprovoked attack on supporters the night before the quarter-final first leg, and that people said they were left battered and bruised after being hit on the head, arms and knees.'

This evening's match goes ahead with increased security following events in Dortmund ahead of their game with Monaco last night.
