Klopp to Man United? No chance

Much speculation has burst forth upon Manchester United's announcement that they have parted company with David Moyes as to who will be the next to take Sir Alex's hotseat. One of the top names to be proffered is Jurgen Klopp, currently Borussia Dortmund's manager, but the German has moved quickly to quell the rumours. Klopp is quoted as saying ".my commitment to Borussia Dortmund and the people is not breakable.", and having only recently extending his contract with the club to 2018 it would seem unfeasible for anything to change unless Manchester United presented an offer which was astronomical in value, especially given that United will be absent from the Champions League next year.

Another contender for the job is Louis van Gaal, the current Netherlands national team coach, who will leave that squad after this years world cup. The Dutch press has so far not been forthcoming regarding whether van Gaal is interested in such a move, but he has quickly been installed as favourite in the bookmakers eyes in England.

The Dutchman, who has had success in La Liga, the Bundesliga, and his native country's Eredivisie with both Ajax and Az Alkmaar, not to mention a selection of cup victories within those countries, would be the scourge of TV commentators the world over should he arrive, his name having the Dutch pronunciation of the "G" which so plagued both the press and the public when Ruud Gullit signed for Chelsea in 1995.

Paul Merson get practicing!
