Karim Bellarabi set for Manchester United move with release clause trigger

The emergence of details of this surprising move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Karim Bellarabi suggests that United could trigger a release clause compelling the club to listen to a deal.

The clause itself is set at just £10.9million say reports and that United are now clear to have Leverkusen listen to a deal to bring the winger to Old Trafford in the Summer.

The cause was apparently added to his contract extension that the player signed just last week which suggests that Leverkusen have set a value that they will be willing to sell at.

The 24-year-old has become a German international under Joachim Low and the report does suggest that any potential suitor will have a job to convince the player himself to move from Leverkusen given the players fondness for the club.

The new deal means the player could stay at the club until 2020 should his surprisingly small release clause not be triggered. The winger has been at Bayer Leverkusen since 2011 when he played for Leverkusen II. After an injury he had a loan spell with Braunshweig but returned for the start of the 2014-2015 season.
