Jovetic to sign for Liverpool?

It’s a rumour that has been floating around just below the surface but recently seems to becoming somewhat more prominent with the Metro claiming the transfer should complete.

Steven Jovetic, whilst not being used as regularly as the player would probably like has still played more than Balotelli or Sturridge this term and scored 5 league goals. The 25-year-old who joined City in 2013 from Fiorentina has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool with the Metro believing £16million will be enough to make the deal happen.

The report suggests that Rodgers is a huge fan of the striker and tried to sign the player before he opted to join Man City. The report goes on to make the case for Liverpool that the offer of regular football could tempt the player to make the switch.

The Montenegrin international is known for his ball-skills and creativity and generally plays as a second striker although can also be deployed as an attacking midfielder or winger. He has drawn comparisons with Roberto Baggio in his playing style.

Liverpool have been having difficulty up-front with their strikers with Sturridge having a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury and Balotelli struggling with form. It would be expected that Jovetic could combine and possibly act as second-striker to Sturridge next season.
