According to reports in Italy, Liverpool will make a €25 million bid for AS Roma forward Mirko Vucinic in the January transfer window.
Itasportpress.it claim Roy Hodgson and his technical staff have earmarked the former Manchester United and Chelsea target as the ideal strike partner to Fernando Torres, and hope the Serie A club’s well documented financial woes will persuade Roma to sell their talismanic forward.
In the last 18-months the impressive Montenegrin international has been coveted by Sir Alex Ferguson and also Premier League champions Chelsea, and the player has in the past publicly expressed an admiration for English football.
The 27-year-old missed Roma’s 3-1 loss at Palermo yesterday through injury but has been regularly rotated by Claudio Ranieri throughout the season, and Itasportpress.it suggest Vucinic would relish the opportunity to play in the Premier League if Liverpool’s new owners can match his lofty valuation.
