Rumours are abound that Liverpool have made enquiries regarding the availability of Real Madrid’s young midfield starlet Isco as reported in The Metro and other publications. Malaga born Isco (Francisco Román Alarcón Suárez) is an attacking midfielder who has had limited playing opportunities at the Spanish giants despite being the first new signing of Carlo Ancelotti in 2013.

The player who was hailed to be the next big thing has had a frustrating spell with his place thought to be under-threat with the arrival Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee. Isco has scored regularly despite his limited playing time caused it is believed by the tactical decision to play a 4-3-3.

The player has attracted interest from Sevilla and AC Milan and Isco was keen to rubbish rumours of an agreed season-long loan move on twitter: ‘Obviously all lies.’

In 2013 Isco was in the squad of the Spanish squad that won the Under-21 Championship in Isreal, the player finished as top-scorer and making the team of the tournament. Isco has been likened in style to Gerrard and would fit in well at Anfield with his attacking intent and goals from midfield.

Spanish publication AS have also stated that Isco could be sold in the Summer to provide additional funds to lure Real Madrid’s big target, James Rodriguez. The Colombian was in sensational form at the World Cup and considered by many to be the best player of the tournament. AS state that Liverpool are the leading contenders to secure the signature of the Spanish international.
