Is Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez the new Luis Suarez

Alexis Sanchez has hit top form with Arsenal since his move from Barcelona in the summer, and it has Gunners fans rejoicing no end.

With 11 goals so far he is proving the money Wenger spent on him is going to good use. However, Arsenal seem to be struggling to find quite the same form. this was highlighted in the Champion League draw at home to Anderlecht after leading the game 3-0. Their latest loss at Swansea, again from a winning position due to a Sanchez goal, further deepened the strain. The dip in form of Aaron Ramsey hasn't helped either, however the return of Theo Walcott is a huge boost the both Arsenal and England.

It's almost mirror image to what Liverpool experienced last season. The partnership of Luis Saurez and Daniel Sturridge produced a deadly attack not seen since the days of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke. This propelled the Kop into a title challenge only lost on the last day of the season. Because of this, rival fans would at times label the reds a "one man team" due to mainly Suarez's major influence in their matches.

When you compare the affectionately named "SAS" to Sanchez and Welbeck, you can literally tick-off the similarities. You have the smaller, quicker and more skillful South American alongside the more powerful, bullish Englishman. The former gets more adulation from the media due to his all-out contribution and his end-product tends to reap more rewards.

As yet, Arsenal haven't been able to completely click-in with that same formula, and Welbeck's early form for the London side looks to have fizzled out recently. This leaves Sanchez having to do more work and possibly risking a burn-out. That is exactly what Arsenal cannot afford if they are to pick themselves up.

On the subject of burn-outs, Liverpool's own Reheem Sterling has been on the verge of that just recently. The young wonder kid has hit spot-light this season and is being compared with Suarez due to his similar style to the Uruguayan. Liverpool are enduring a torrid time in reflection on last season and having to play most of this campaign without Sturridge due to injury is proving is majorly tough task with summer recruits Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert yet hit and sort of form.

There is only so much Sanchez can be expected to do and if for whatever reason his form takes an unexpected downturn, it could have disastrous effect on their season and that all important, coveted fourth place may slip from their grasp.

Clubs can now rest for the International break but will be holding a deep breathe that their stars remain injury free, none more so than a certain Mr. Wenger.
