Captain Robbie Keane has insisted underdogs Ireland are ready to tear up the script and inflict a shock defeat on world champions Spain in Thursday's Euro 2012 Group C clash.

"Everyone in this room has probably already written the script that Spain are going to beat us, but there is no way the players will go in believing that," the 31-year-old told reporters at a press conference.

"Whether or not they are superior, we have to believe that we have every chance."

Having lost their opening match 3-1 to Croatia last Sunday, Ireland face Vicente del Bosque's Spain as over-whelming underdogs with some bookmakers putting the Irish at 11-1 to beat the defending champions.
