Ipswich hoping David McGoldrick and Tom Lawrence will be fit for Birmingham game

Ipswich hope to have forward David McGoldrick (knee) and top scorer Tom Lawrence (groin) available for the visit of Birmingham.

Midfielder Emyr Huws missed Wales duty because of a hamstring injury, but has returned to training along with striker Kieffer Moore (groin), Teddy Bishop (groin) and centre-half Steven Taylor (hamstring).

On-loan Reading striker Dominic Samuel has recovered from his broken toe and featured for the Under-23s over the international break, as did midfielder Jonny Williams after his recent hamstring problem.

Defender Tommy Smith was delayed on his return from playing for New Zealand, so will be assessed. Midfielder Luke Hyam (ankle) remains sidelined as does centre-half Adam Webster following ankle surgery.

Clayton Donaldson is in contention to start at Portman Road, with his last start having come against the Tractor Boys in December.

The striker had been out for three months with an Achilles injury before making a return as a late substitute in the 0-0 draw with Newcastle earlier this month.

Defender Michael Morrison is out for Blues but boss Gianfranco Zola has Krystian Bielik available after an Achilles issue.

Midfielder Reece Brown cannot play for the rest of the season due to loan regulations, having ended his loan spell at Chesterfield early.
