On-loan Jamie McCart impressed by 'quality and togetherness' of Inverness squad

Inverness slipped three points adrift at the foot of the Ladbrokes Prmiership on Wednesday but Jamie McCart has been struck by the unity of the squad since arriving on loan.

The 19-year-old Celtic defender signed on transfer deadline day and watched his new team lose 3-0 from the substitutes' bench at Hamilton hours later.

Manager Richie Foran accused some of his players of "hiding" and "lacking bottle" after the game but McCart feels there is plenty of spirit and talent among his new team-mates as they bid to bounce back at home to Dundee on Saturday.

The teenager, who is the son of Celtic academy director Chris McCart, said: "To work under the gaffer will be great. When he phoned me, he spoke about how good the players here were - the quality and togetherness in the dressing room.

"I've only been here two days but can already testify to that straight away. I'm learning every day and looking forward to what is to come.

"It is all about coming to play first-team football and to be around the first-team environment.

"It's a great club, a great group of players. As soon as I came in, everyone was positive from the manager right through the club.

"It has been brilliant so far and I can already see it paying off in terms of experience and gaining knowledge for football."

Foran will give the players the chance to redeem themselves on the park after speaking out on Tuesday night.

"The time for talking is done," the Irishman said. "I don't think I need a team talk now.

"I can see boys are hurting after the Hamilton game and I'm confident of us going out and winning on Saturday. They can't wait to get back out now."

Marc Klok aims to show Scottish football his true self after making a return with Dundee.

The 23-year-old Dutchman made his professional debut playing for Ross County during the 2013/14 season, but only made a handful of appearances before being released.

However, Dundee manager Paul Hartley took a chance on him on deadline day after being impressed on a two-day trial.

And Klok believes he arrives back in Scotland a different person and player.

"I've been in Scotland when I was 20," the defensive midfielder said. "I've played six games I think. I had a good experience in the league, I was always on the bench and training with the lads.

"The first time I came here I was a kid. Not a kid, but it was my first time away from my parents, just out of the second team, never played professionally before.

"I feel like I have a lot of experience now and I want to show who Marc Klok is, it's time to show who Marc Klok is. I'm ready for it, I'm hungry for it."

Klok had spells at Cherno More in Bulgaria and Oldham in England's third tier between his Scottish spells, even winning the Bulgarian Cup in 2015.

"It didn't work out as I had hoped in Scotland before, due to many circumstances," he said. "I don't want to look back to this because it's the past, just focus on the present and the future. Everything I've learned in the last couple of years I can bring it here and show on the pitch.

"I don't really want to speak a lot about that, I want to let my feet do the talking on the pitch. Every single day I'm here I will give 110 per cent for this club, and that's what they can expect at least. The rest I want to show on the pitch."

Klok could make his debut against Inverness and added: "It's funny because my first professional adventure was with Ross County and I lived in Inverness, so I hope I can make my debut but the three points are the most important."
