Inter will not rule out Balotelli return says Zanetti

As if to pre-empt the inevitable question of a January return to Milan, Inter Milan have already come out to suggest that whilst it would be difficult to bring back the struggling Italian striker that they would hold meetings to investigate the possibility.

Inter vice president Javier Zanetti has not ruled out a potential swoop for the blank-firing striker in January despite reports the contrary. The 24-year-old has failed to score in any of his 10 Premier League appearances for the Reds and patience may well be close to being completely extinguished for the £16m summer buy.

Balotelli finds himself out of action due to injury and could face a further ban after his Instagram image post.

Zanetti spoke to Sky Sport Italia where the subject was raised:

"A Balotelli return? We all know Mario is a great player but I think it's difficult because he only just arrived at Liverpool,"

"In any case, after our game against Lazio we will hold meetings to see what we can do and what is needed in terms of the [transfer] market."

Balotelli had a successful spell at Internazionale between 2007-2010 where he made 59 appearances and scored 20 goals before being acquire by Man City in 2010.
