Philip Billing set to miss Huddersfield's home clash with Cardiff

Huddersfield midfielder Philip Billing is expected to miss the home game against Cardiff due to a knee injury.

Billing was forced out of last week's defeat at Birmingham, where head coach David Wagner rested key players ahead of the play-offs and made 10 changes.

Striker Elias Kachunga (calf) remains sidelined but is hoping to be fit for the play-off semi-final, while on-loan Chelsea forward Kasey Palmer (hamstring) and Jon Gorenc Stankovic (knee) will play no further part this season.

Wagner must decide whether to recall the likes of Jonathan Hogg, Chris Lowe, Raj van La Parra, Izzy Brown and Michael Hefele to his squad.

Peter Whittingham could close his Cardiff career after 10 years of service as the midfielder is out of contract this summer and has yet to agree a new deal.

Defender Bruno Manga is also in talks with Cardiff over new terms but he will be missing ahead of international duty with Gabon.

Iceland midfielder Aron Gunnarsson could also be rested ahead of international duty, and Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock is expected to hand a few fringe players an opportunity.

Defender Matt Connolly, goalkeeper Brian Murphy and wingers Mark Harris and Craig Noone could all start.
