Huddersfield waiting on Danny Ward and Philip Billing

Huddersfield pair Danny Ward and Philip Billing are both injury doubts for the home game against Aston Villa.

Goalkeeper Ward was forced out of Saturday's home defeat to Newcastle after taking a knock to his leg and midfielder Billing was withdrawn due to a calf injury.

Joel Coleman is on stand-by to replace Ward, while Jonathan Hogg could return to the starting line-up if Billing is ruled out.

Winger Sean Scannell is back in contention following a long-term ankle injury, but on-loan Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer (hamstring) will be sidelined until April.

Villa were left counting the cost of their weekend win at Rotherham as both Birkir Bjarnason and Jack Grealish were forced off through injury.

Bjarnason is waiting to learn the full extent of his knee ligament injury, while fellow midfielder Grealish sustained a nasty cut on a knee.

Teenage winger Andre Green (hamstring) and Gary Gardner (ankle) both missed out at Rotherham after picking up injuries in last week's win against Bristol City and will be assessed.

Scott Hogan (ankle), Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Gabriel Agbonlahor (hamstring) are all closing in on their returns, but are not expected to feature, while Leandro Bacuna sits out the third game of his six-match ban.
