Defender Liam Donnelly suspended for Hartlepool's clash with Barnet

Hartlepool will be without defender Liam Donnelly for their Sky Bet League Two home clash with Barnet on Saturday.

Donnelly was shown two yellow cards in quick succession in the closing moments of Pools' 2-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Leyton Orient on Monday - the first for verbally abusing the referee and second for going head-to-head with the official.

The 21-year-old now faces a two-game suspension as it was his second dismissal of the season. Nicky Deverdics is in the running to replace the Northern Irishman.

Goalkeeper Trevor Carson returned to training this week after a lengthy absence with a shoulder problem but he is unlikely to be risked, while youngster Kenton Richardson remains out with an ankle injury.

Barnet's interim head coach Rossi Eames is looking for his first win in charge after succeeding Kevin Nugent last week.

Nugent was sacked after overseeing just one victory in 11 matches but Eames' opening game ended in a 2-0 defeat at home to Wycombe on Monday.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Curtis Weston are expected to keep their places after being brought in to the side by Eames but Fumnaya Shomotun could make way for Ruben Bover.

Shane Cojocarel (arm), Josh Vickers (quad), Jack Taylor (hernia), James Pearson (knee), Michael Gash (knee) and Shaun Batt (quad) remain long-term absentees.
