Hamilton v St Mirren

Hamilton manager Alex Neil decided to make three changes to his side for the visit of St Mirren to New Douglas Park, despite having no new injury concerns following the international break.

Neil was angry at the standard of defending in Hamilton's last match at Inverness that saw them concede four goals, so captain Martin Canning was brought in to try and shore up central defence at the expense of Mikey Devlin.

Also dropping to the bench were Jon Routledge and Darian MacKinnon, with Grant Gillespie and Dougie Imrie the men to step into the midfield in their place.

Despite a host of missing players such as suspended captain Jim Goodwin and the injured John McGinn, Ellis Plummer, Isaac Osbourne, Gregg Wylde and Stephen Thompson, St Mirren manager Tommy Craig still decided to shuffle his pack from the team that lost at home to Partick Thistle last time out with four changes.

The most high profile casualty was goalkeeper Marian Kello, who paid for letting in a soft goal against Thistle with his place in the side taken by understudy Mark Ridgers.

Youngsters Stevie Mallan and Jack Baird came in to replace assistant manager Gary Teale and Callum Ball, while Ross Caldwell came in for James Marwood up front.
