Gavin Gunning begins three-match ban for Grimsby

Gavin Gunning's Sky Bet League Two season is over after Grimsby decided not to appeal against the red card the defender received at Cheltenham.

Irish centre-back Gunning will serve a three-match suspension following his dismissal towards the end of Monday's 2-1 defeat and Mariners boss Russell Slade is happy to field an alternative player.

Slade, embarking on his second stint as Grimsby manager, used a heavily defensive formation at Whaddon Road and so could squeeze midfielder James Berrett into the line-up against Yeovil.

Scott Vernon made his return as a half-time substitute after two weeks out with concussion, but fellow striker Akwasi Asante (knock) was not in the squad in Gloucestershire and could miss out again.

Yeovil youngster Jonny Maddison will continue to deputise for injured Glovers goalkeeper Artur Krysiak.

Polish stopper Krysiak missed the Easter fixtures against Newport and Crewe after damaging an ankle in training.

But Yeovil boss Darren Way has every outfield player available after winger Otis Khan's goal-scoring return last weekend following three months out with an ankle problem.

Bournemouth loanee Ben Whitfield has completed a three-game ban as the Glovers seek the win which will guarantee their League Two status.
