New West Brom captain Darren Fletcher has backed strike duo Saido Berahino and Brown Ideye to fire the Baggies away from danger.
The pair struck to beat Swansea 2-0 and give Albion breathing space from the Barclays Premier League's bottom three.
They moved four points clear of Aston Villa, who occupy the final drop spot, after Berahino's 15th goal of the campaign clinched the win.
Four-goal Ideye, the club's £10million record signing, was on the verge of joining Al Gharafa for just five million euros on deadline day but has now doubled his tally for the season in his last two games.
And Fletcher, handed the armband after joining from Manchester United last week, expects the forwards to continue their form.
He said: "You need to score goals in this league to win matches and that mainly comes down to the strikers, although you want goals from all over the pitch.
"If we can get the service into them I'm sure they are going to take their chances. It's important in any team your strikers score goals.
"They were both fantastic, first and foremost their work-rate and desire, then their quality and the second was a perfect strike-partnership goal.
"They worked extremely hard, Saido had a really tough shift. He had to drop into midfield as well and then had to get forward but he did it, never moaned, got on with it and got his rewards with the goal which his performance deserved."
The Baggies dominated much of the game to move up to 14th and Fletcher insisted they were worthy winners.
He said: "I thought we thoroughly deserved the win. You expect Swansea to have possession but we were the team who looked like scoring and worked extremely hard.
"Everything the manager prepared us for worked out. It doesn't always work that way but tonight it did and we capitalised on that."
Swansea boss Garry Monk refused to offer any excuses for their lacklustre display and admitted they deserved nothing.
Bafetimbi Gomis wasted their best chance in the first half when he shot straight at Ben Foster.
Monk said: "They deserved the win, I have no complaints. We didn't deserve anything from the game.
"The first half was pretty even but we didn't play with any tempo or intensity. That's what we need in our game and we didn't have it at all.
"West Brom, the way they set up to counter, were patient, they grew in confidence and, when they had a chance to break, they broke and got the goals they deserved.
"They were there to be got at and we missed the chance."
