McAlinden set for Fleetwood bow

Liam McAlinden is in line for his Fleetwood debut against Port Vale.

The Wolves forward signed a three-month loan deal on Thursday and will come into manager Graham Alexander's thinking after his side fired blanks in four of the past five fixtures.

Midfield pair Jeff Hughes (broken leg) and Keith Southern (hernia) both played for the development squad in midweek - the former completing 90 minutes - but it may be too soon for either to return.

Jamille Matt (broken leg) is out for the season while Northern Ireland international Conor McLaughlin will play his last match before going away on international duty.

Stephane Zubar will be added to the Vale squad after the Bournemouth defender joined the club on Monday on a one-month loan deal.

However, West Brom teenager Reiss Greenidge, who also made a loan switch to Vale Park this week ahead of a proposed permanent move, will not travel. The 18-year-old centre-half is seen as one for the future and will first play in the development squad before making the step up to the first team.

Caretaker boss Rob Page has named the same starting line-up in both of his two games in charge but has the likes of Chris Robertson, Chris Birchall, Ben Williamson, Colin Daniel, Michael Brown and Byron Moore available, along with Zubar, should he wish to alternate one or two players this weekend.

Meanwhile, right-back Freddie Veseli is expected to be out for at least the next two weeks after X-rays showed the on-loan Ipswich defender has broken ribs. Striker Achille Campion has returned to light training as he steps up his recovery from a thigh strain.
