FA slash ticket prices for England Under 21 qualifier after k-o moves to 3pm

England Under-21s will host Bosnia at the bizarre midweek time of 3pm after a UEFA decision to play the final European Championship qualifying group games together.

The Young Lions will now play at 3pm on Tuesday, October 11, at Walsall and not 5.45pm as originally planned, so they mirror the kick-off time of Kazakhstan against Norway in Group 9.

The FA has dropped ticket prices to £1 and is offering schools and charities free tickets to encourage fans to come and pack the Banks's Stadium for the Under-21s' final group game.

Gareth Southgate's side go to Kazakhstan on October 6 needing just a win from their final two matches to reach next year's European Championship in Poland.

An FA spokesperson said: "The move to dramatically reduce the ticket price to just £1 for all admissions is because we recognise the huge challenge this new kick-off time presents to supporters wanting to cheer on the England Under-21s.

"We asked UEFA to look again at rescheduling the final qualifiers, as whilst we accept it is important for sporting reasons to schedule the games at the same time, we felt England fans were being disproportionately affected by moving our game to 3pm."
