Exeter's Jamie Reid salvages a point against Bristol Rovers

Jamie Reid salvaged a point for Exeter with a dramatic injury-time equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers.

Rovers completely dominated the first half and had numerous chances to go in front.

Stuart Sinclair was denied by Bobby Olejnik, who then had to be at his best to deny Rory Gaffney.

Exeter's best chance came from Alex Nicholls, whose free-kick was well saved by Steve Mildenhall, while David Noble was off target with an effort from 18 yards.

After the break, the game continued in the same vein with Olejnik continuing to halt Rovers. Gaffney was twice denied by the imposing shot-stopper and when Rovers did finally beat him, Matty Taylor was denied by a linesman's flag.

Eventually, the deadlock was broken with seven minutes remaining when Sinclair received the ball 25 yards out and curled a delightful shot over the head of Olejnik and into the net from 25 yards.

However, Reid came to Exeter's rescue with his first goal at St James' Park. He smashed in a volley from David Wheeler's deflected cross from 12 yards to get Exeter out of jail and break Rovers' hearts.
